Police Auction Sales
The Orangeville Police Service, from time to time, acquires various items by way of items being found by members of the public and turned over to police or by way of items being seized for evidence, etc. by police. Federal and provincial legislation determines the process that police services must follow regarding any property that is in possession of the police. In some cases legislation authorizes the police service to sell the items and turn over the proceeds from the sale to the municipalities Police Services Board. To facilitate the sale of items deemed authorized for sale, the Orangeville Police Service utilizes the services of Police Auctions Canada.
