Police host annual Open House & BBQ to launch Police Week

The Orangeville Police Service is opening its doors to the public for the annual tour of the police station and charity BBQ this Saturday, May 12, 2018.

The 2018 Police Week celebrations begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Orangeville Police Service Headquarters at 390 C Line. Members of the Police Auxiliary Unit and Humber College Police Foundations Program will guide visitors on tours of the facility. Guests may also take part in the charity BBQ that will be offered, with proceeds going to the Cops for Cancer campaign.

During the open house, police welcome the public to drop off their expired, unused or no longer needed medications to the Orangeville Police Service. These medications could be either narcotic or non-narcotic. This service is free and anonymous to individuals dropping off the prescription medications, with no questions asked.

Officers will also be on hand to inspect infant car seats and members of the I.O.D.E. Lord Dufferin Chapter will offer Child Find fingerprinting of kids if requested.

The open house and prescription drug drop-off event run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
