KUWAIT CITY, October 2: Kuwait Shooting Club has recently announced that the annual His Highness Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khalid Shooting Championship will be held from 8 to 16 November in which approximately 400 male and female shooters from Kuwait, Gulf and other Arab countries will participate. announced. participating countries.

Duaij Al-Otaibi, president of the club and chairman of the organizing committee, stated at the press conference that the championship is the beginning of the club’s 2024-2025 sports season. The event will feature all Olympic shooting competitions for both men and women.

Al-Otaibi added that the championship, held at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Range Complex, known as one of the best shooting ranges in Asia, will include Olympic events for flying targets (skeet and trap) with the participation of Arab champions. These competitions will be part of the Arab championship held alongside the main event. The championship will also include pistol and rifle shooting for men, women and youth, as well as archery (mixed and Olympic categories).

Expressing his gratitude for the patronage of His Highness the Crown Prince, he noted that the support has made the championship one of the most important sporting events after His Highness the Emir’s International Grand Shooting Championship. Al-Otaibi emphasized that the ongoing support of the country’s leadership has enabled Kuwaiti shooting sport to achieve many great successes.

General Director of the Public Sports Authority, Bashar Abdullah, confirmed the organization’s determination to support the championship and ensure its success in terms of organization and technical execution. He expressed confidence that the club will organize an extraordinary event. Abdullah also appreciated the efforts of the club’s board of directors to promote continuous victories, underlining the authority’s determination to strongly support Kuwaiti shooting sports and overcome challenges.

Club secretary and tournament director Obaid Al-Osaimi stated that the organizing committee, with the help of Kuwaiti and Arab referee teams, has prepared the club’s facilities to host the competitions at the highest standard. Al-Osaimi added that the Kuwait national team is fully ready for the tournament after its excellent performance in the last Asian Championship.

During the press conference, the Shooting Club honored the Kuwait national team for their outstanding achievements at the Asian Championships in Kazakhstan, where the team won a total of 10 medals (5 gold and 5 silver). Shooter Nasser Al-Muqalled, who won three gold medals in the trap and double trap events, owed his success to the extensive preparations provided by the club, including a training camp in Italy before the competition.
