Both Sabharwal and Sterling say overwatering is the most common mistake people make that kills their houseplants.

As protection against overwatering, Sabharwal recommends: pots with drainage, especially if you’re a new plant parent. “Excess water at the bottom of pots without drainage often becomes clogged and can cause plant roots to rot. If there are drainage holes, you should water your plants generously each time until the water begins to drain from the bottom. Leave the plant to soak up the contents of the flow tray and discard the rest after a few hours.”

Sterling announces the signing of EasyPlant self watering potting system as a natural fix. “Customers don’t have to worry about overwatering.” Besides, Sterling points out that people have a bad habit of making plants die from light exposure.

“Many people think that low light means their plants will thrive and continue to grow even if they only get one or two hours of light a day.” “In reality, most tropical houseplants can adapt to less-than-ideal natural light conditions, but they still need a consistent light source,” he explains.
