Howell County detectives searching for trailer thieves

MOUNTAIN GROVE, MO. (KY3) – Howell County Sheriff’s deputies are trying to track down two men accused of stealing a trailer attached to a pickup truck at a local business.

This incident happened around 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 16 at the Hawkins Home and Lawn in Mountain Grove. According to the sheriff’s office, it was a 16-foot trailer.

The trailer was stolen from the Hawkins Home and Lawn in Mountain Grove. Plate 85L-2BC(Howell County Sheriff’s Office)

“We’re guessing it’s a Chevy Silverado,” Sheriff Brent Campbell said. “It was around 2007 or 2012. They took him off the company truck and then carried him to their truck, of course they hitched him up and drove out of the lot.”

The suspects’ truck was described as a light-colored, silver or white Chevy Silverado, 2007-2012 model.(Howell County Sheriff’s Office)

Security footage shows the two men catching up to the trailer but failing to get the truck’s license plate. All detectives need to know is that it is a light-colored truck, possibly silver or white.

“The license on the trailer at the time was 85L-2BC. “I’m sure it was removed at this point,” Campbell said.

Detectives have followed leads, but so far nothing has come of them, according to Campbell.

If you have any information about the trailer or the two men involved, call the Howell County Sheriff’s Office at 417-256-2544.
