A 22-year-old Boca Raton man died in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 west of Vero Beach

A. Boca Raton A 22-year-old man was killed in a crash involving a sport utility vehicle and a semitractor trailer on Interstate 95 near Vero Beach over the weekend.

The crash happened at 3:45 a.m. Sunday on the I-95 southbound State Road 60 overpass west of Vero Beach, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver of the tan 2005 Honda CR-V was taken to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, speedway officials said in a news release.

The driver of the red 2019 Volvo VNL, a 36-year-old Margate man, was uninjured.

Both vehicles were traveling southbound in the outside lane near the 147-mile-high State Road 60 when the SUV collided with the rear of a semitractor-trailer on the State Road 60 overpass, according to details of the crash provided by the agency. .

FHP does not identify individuals involved in crashes.

According to FHP, the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
