Pedestrian died after being hit by a tractor trailer in Bamberg district

BAMBERG, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – A pedestrian was killed following a crash in Bamberg County on Tuesday afternoon.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers, the crash happened at US 21 at SC 61 at 1:22 p.m.

Troopers said a 2020 Toyota Corolla was heading west on SC 61 and a tractor trailer was heading north on US 21.

Police say the driver of the Corolla collided with the tractor trailer, which caused the tractor trailer to collide with the pedestrian.

According to police, the pedestrian died at the scene from his injuries.

The drivers of the Corolla and the tractor trailer were injured and taken to hospitals in the area.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
