New Bentley Mulliner Hybrids Bring 771 HP and 50 Miles of EV Range

The updated Mulliner range, which includes the GT, GTC and Flying Spur, features a new grille, additional equipment and plug-in hybrid power

  • Bentley has introduced its new Mulliner range, featuring revised styling, updated equipment and a new plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Bentley introduced its updated version Mulliner seriesConsisting of plug-in hybrid versions of the Continental GT, Continental GTC and Flying Spur. The upgrades also go beyond the powertrain and include a number of styling changes.

We’ll get to the second one in a moment, but all three cars are inspired by the company’s new concept. Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain. It consists of a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, an electric motor and a 25.9 kWh battery pack. This setup allows the all-wheel-drive luxury vehicles to produce a total output of 771 hp (575 kW / 782 PS) and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque.

These are impressive figures and allow the cars to reach 96 km/h in as little as 3.1 seconds. Customers can also travel up to 140 km/h at speeds of up to 81 km (87 mph) on electricity alone. When the battery runs out, it can be fully charged in approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes with an 11 kW charger.

Powertrain aside, all models feature the new Floating Diamond grille with vertical bar along with chrome surround. These are accompanied by chrome air intakes, chrome side accents, chrome exhaust pipes and Satin Silver mirror caps. The models also feature special 22-inch wheels with self-levelling Bentley Mulliner emblems.

Continental GT and the GTC features Mulliner badging on its front fenders and headlights with “new, unique and highly complex ‘cut crystal’ reflectors.” Flying Spur, on the other hand, has the Flying B hood ornament as well as new front fender vents with “double diamond detail”.

Highlights on the exterior are animated lighting sequences and new red taillights. 101 paint colors are available, but customers can get custom paint matches as well as classic shades upon request.

The interior is largely the same, but there are also special seats with Mulliner trim and new diamond perforated patterns. Bentley also noted that the stitching pattern extends to the trunk lid on the Continental GTC Mulliner and is visible when the roof is lowered.

More importantly, the cars now come equipped with Wellness front seats with sport posture adjustment and automatic climate control. Flying Spur it also adds stylish seats in the rear to minimize passenger fatigue.

Finally, the climate control system now features a new particle filter as well as air ionizers. The infotainment system also includes new screens that show the air quality inside and outside the vehicle.

Bentley He said customers can expect “an even more impressive combination of performance, handling and magic carpet finesse.” This is made possible thanks to a “new dual-valve shock absorber system and dual-chamber air springs” that allow for more advanced tuning options.
