State Representatives Manning and Miller announce 0K for Lorain County Health and Dentistry

State representatives Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) and Joe Miller (D-Amherst) announced $500,000 in the Capital Fund for Lorain County Health and Dentistry, according to a news release.

Lorain County Health and Dentistry will use these funds for new dental equipment, including operating rooms, radiography and sterilization equipment, for a new Community Health Center, the statement said.

Located on Center Ridge Road, the center will feature seven exam rooms, six dental offices, two counseling/behavioral health offices and additional clinical and administrative space, according to the release.

“I am proud to support Lorain County Health and Dentistry’s ongoing efforts to provide high-quality health care for our county,” Miller said in a statement. “This investment works hand in hand with my commitment to making health care affordable for everyone, and I will continue to fight to reduce costs and expand coverage throughout Lorain County.”

Manning attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the facility, which recently opened and accepts patients.

“Community health centers are critical care facilities that help Ohioans with their routine health needs,” Manning said in a statement. “They provide necessary care in areas where Ohioans lack access to health care.”

Lorain County Health and Dentistry has been recognized as a Level III Patient-Centered Medical Home by the National Committee for Quality Assurance since 2012.

Its mission is to serve those most in need who might otherwise face barriers to accessing healthcare, according to the statement.

Comprehensive basic medical services are offered through the institution and are available to people of all ages.
