Woman hit by tractor trailer dies

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (KAIT) – An Alabama woman died after crashing into a tractor trailer in Lawrence County.

The fatal crash preliminary summary from Arkansas State Police said the crash occurred at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at U.S. Highway 67 and U.S. Highway 67Y in Walnut Ridge.

The summary states that 65-year-old Cynthia Faye Hood of Addison was driving a 2024 Mack truck northbound on U.S. Highway 67 when the truck left the roadway on the left side, entered a ditch, and struck a telephone pole before crossing U.S. Highway 67Y.

The report notes clear and dry conditions at the time of the accident.

Detective Chris Parnell of the Walnut Ridge Police Department investigated the crash.

Hood’s remains are being held at Bryan Funeral Home in Hoxie.
