3 Key Trends Capturing the ‘Ocean Girl’ Aesthetic

Designers showcased their Spring/Summer 2025 ready-to-wear collections globally this month. New York Fashion Week. We couldn’t help but notice a trend making waves on the runways, and it’s a look we’ll be embracing all summer long. We call this the ‘ocean girl’ aesthetic.

At the time of writing, ‘Ocean Girl’ has 273.8 million posts on TikTok and the trend will only increase with this season’s new posts. We’ve seen nautical stripes at Tommy Hilfiger and splashes of ocean blue on beachwear at Ralph Lauren. While Khaite sent flowing dresses down the runway, sheer skirts with fishnets dominated at Simone Rocha.
