Xiaomi recently added one of its Poco devices to its ‘End of Life’ (EOL) list. Poco C31 is the newest device on the list. In simple terms, this means that the device will no longer receive firmware updates, including important updates such as security patches. The smartphone was launched in India on September 30, 2021. The devices listed are generally older models and are usually two or three years old. These devices have reached the end of their support lifecycle, which means Xiaomi will no longer release updates for them.

Poco C31 received the last MIUI 12.5 update in July 2023. With the recent end-of-life announcement, Poco C31 will no longer receive any updates in the future. This means Poco C31 users will not receive new Android or MIUI versions as well as security patches.

While smartphones will continue to work, they won’t receive new software features and may become less secure over time without regular security patches.

Users should keep this in mind and consider switching to a newer Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco device if staying up to date is important to them.
