‘Like a Dragon: Yakuza’ trailer brings SEGA’s Japanese gangster game to life

Prime Minister Video released the official trailer Like a Dragon: YakuzaIt offers a look at SEGA’s new live-action adaptation of the popular video game series. It looks like we’ll be seeing a lot of the beat em’ up action the games are known for.

Not to be confused with Yakuza: Like a DragonThe six-episode action series follows Japanese gangster Kiryu Kazuma (Kamen RiderIn 1995, Kiryu and his friends plan a heist that will stand in the way of the Dojima Family, a powerful yakuza organization that rules Kamurocho’s underworld. The heist probably won’t go that well, considering Kiryu will be released from prison in ten years. Even so, it looks like Kiryu’s violent days are still far from over as he returns to Kamurocho to protect his friends after learning they are in danger.

It is not clear whether Like a Dragon: Yakuza will feature some of the famously whimsical and humorous elements that make the games so unique. However, judging by the quick shot of two women in formal attire, it looks like fan favorite cabaret club mini game At least we will hear a shout. Luckily, we’ll also see Kiryu try every tonkatsu joint in the city.

Like a Dragon: Yakuza Coming to Prime Video on October 24.
