Celtics’ NBA 2K25 ratings are 100% wrong

Celtics’ NBA 2K25 ratings are 100% wrong

NBA 2K25 came out less than three weeks agoThis means that fans are getting used to their favorite actor’s performance in the latest installment of the series.

Speaking of storied franchises, Boston Celtics expected to be One of the best teams in the league this year. That’s why they have many highly rated players. Despite this, Celtics fans will likely have disagreements with the game’s developers. regarding assigned ratings To some of Boston’s best players.

Jayson Tatum’s 95 should be higher

Tatum is not only an elite player, but one of the league’s few true superstars. He is an elite three-level scorer who can create his own shot at will.

He is also an elite defender who can guard positions one through four with ease. Moreover, thanks to his height, strength and athleticism, he can reach fifth place in a very short time.

While Tatum can adequately defend the starting five in the traditional sense, which speaks to his versatility, he is also more than capable of excelling in the small-ball five-man role for short periods of time. Tatum’s ball-handling and shooting ability give him an advantage over many traditional centers, but he’s also capable of hitting the block with the best of them.

However, when he plays a small center role, he plays to his strengths, often moving the defender into space; Here he can use his speed and ability to create and get past them by setting up a step-back that most big men have. There is no hope of competing.

Defensively, Tatum often tries to get the opposing player forward and prevent the ball from getting in in the first place. But Tatum is not hopeless if his main responsibility is to get the ball. Using his instincts and quickness, he will make strategic moves on the ball and try to release the ball. He’s also pretty good at dealing with shots for his size, with a good understanding of angles and how to block or at least disrupt the opponent’s shots.

Tatum really should be at least 92 or 93 defensively given his ability to make an impact all over the field. But offense is where he really shines. He is supposed to be 98 and you could even get 99 points in total given his ability to score effectively from anywhere on the pitch.

Jaylen Brown’s 92 is extremely low and borders on disrespect

Absolutely not. This rating is insulting. If Tatum’s memo is wrong but at least somehow defensible or understandable, Brown’s memo is absolutely ridiculous. Seeing this rating, it’s hard not to get the feeling that the developers decided in advance that they couldn’t rate Brown anywhere near Tatum because Tatum is considered the Celtics’ best player as Brown’s reliever. quite the opposite. But this fundamentally misunderstands the Celtics’ hierarchy and is disrespectful to both Brown and Tatum, especially Brown.

He’s not just a sidekick, he’s a superstar in his own right. If he wasn’t on the Celtics and was arguably the best player on his team, there’s no doubt he could have put up the same numbers as Tatum. It might even be better. But in its current form, it comes pretty close to Tatum’s production.

Defensively Brown really shines. In fact, he might even be better than Tatum on that end of the court. Brown always had upside as a scorer, but he was actually drafted for his defensive potential and ability to stop opposing scorers.

Brown needs to be at least 95 on both ends, and a score between 94 and 96 overall would be reasonable.

Kristaps Porzingis had a nice career resurgence but 87 is a bit high

Porzingis is a very good player and has done an excellent job of improving his career with the Celtics after being widely considered a bust due to his high draft status. However, Porzingis’ resurgence may be a bit exaggerated in this ranking. He has become a very effective player, but the game’s developers seem to have been a little too eager to portray Porzingis as an underdog who overcame adversity to become a superstar.

His story is inspiring, but he’s not exactly a star. To be fair, this rating is not too serious and is defensible. But it pushes the boundaries of what Porzingis can do and his true abilities. Porzingis should probably be ranked 85th. Maybe 86 or 84, but 87 is pushing it a bit.
