A few days after taking the world chess by storm, Indian chess grandmaster D Gukesh was seen playing his new hit song Manasilayo featuring Rajinikanth. Gukesh posted a video of the group dance on his Instagram account.

She was seen wearing a red “kurta”, “veshti” and sunglasses. The video clip has received more than 300 thousand likes and comments from many fans who admire the Chennai-born chess player. “My brother is casually dancing after India won the Olympics,” commented a social media user. One of his fans hailed Gukesh as “all-rounder”. “Okay… dear versatile man… everything you can’t do… you literally kill everything.

“I never thought we’d see the chess grandmaster dance before GTA 6,” said another fan. In April, Gukesh became the youngest contender for the World Championship title later this year after winning the prestigious Candidates tournament. He was 17 at the time and turned 18 in May. Gukesh and China’s Ding Liren will face off in Singapore from November 20 to December 15 for the coveted title and $2.50 million prize fund.

He treated the recently concluded Olympics, where India won a historic gold medal ahead of the World Championships in November, as an individual competition. “I treated the Olympics as an individual event. I wanted to perform well in this special tournament. “I am very happy with my own performance and the team’s performance,” he said.

Gukesh put in a sensational performance for India at the Olympics in Hungary, taking nine points from 10 matches and recording eight wins along with just a couple of draws, which also earned him an individual gold.

If the youngster succeeds, he will be the first Indian to bag this title since the legendary Viswanathan Anand. Anand won the world title five times during his illustrious career.
