Sunken trailer in lake

A cargo trailer was spotted partially submerged in Okanagan Lake off Westside Road, north of West Kelowna.

Cody Walsh was boating in the area when he saw the wreckage.

He says the trailer was badly damaged and fell down Westside Road

“It’s on the lake shore, just below Pine Point Court,” Walsh said.

Castanet has arrived Canada Transportation A person usually responsible for removing vehicles or sunken ships from a lake.

“As this is not a ship, the owner of the trailer will be responsible for their own property. Transport Canada encourages the public to report this incident to their local authorities,” says Transport Canada spokesperson Sau Sau Liu.

Walsh said the trailer was easily visible from the water north of Trader’s Cove, where it sank, but he was not sure if it was visible from the road.

“It was a mess,” Walsh says.

There is no vehicle attached to the trailer and it does not appear to be leaking any fluid into the lake.
