“Comparing me to Trump will not change Nigeria’s reality” — Peter Obi addresses presidency

Labor Party’s 2023 Presidential Candidate Mr. Peter ObiHe harshly criticized the presidency’s attempts to tarnish his image by making comparisons with the US Republican Party Candidate. Donald Trump.

Obi made the following statement through his Media Office:Why are desperate OBI translators turning into dust?“Which was signed by his spokesman, Ibrahim Omer, in Abuja on Sunday.”

Peter Obi

Accordingly Peter ObiDesperate propagandists, along with presidential supporters, were attempting to distort the facts in an attempt to destroy his flawless image.

Omer said:It would be remiss of these commentators to go a day without finding something to negatively associate Obi with in the media; unless he and his family members are being fictitiously arrested (flying a kite into test waters?), falsely accused of supporting violence or distorting his public appearances to suit their own dubious ends.

According to Umar, the most ridiculous of such misconceptions is the President’s attempt to mock Obi by involving him in the US election process and scandalously linking him with Republican Party Candidate Donald Trump.

He added that they were well aware of the purpose behind these absurd comparisons, which he described as a “bizarre way to get undeserved attention from Democrats.”

“Nigerians who thought of this sarcastic and witty comparison tried to ask the question: ‘If you call Peter Obi ‘Trump’, will that mean or imply that Tinubu is Harris?’

“Any discerning mind that tries to compare Obi and Tinubu and equate them with the two American Presidential candidates, Trump and Harris, knows very well the similarities and parallels in terms of morality, transparency, good faith backgrounds and people-oriented policies.

“By resorting to such clever comparisons aimed at discrediting Obi, the Presidency is only highlighting the glaring weaknesses of the current administration and their inability to discern the facts, especially the pains and travails their actions and policies have inflicted on the country over the past year.

“Nigerians are not naive enough to fall for such empty propaganda.

“It is ironic that a leader who has been disturbingly distant for over a year since the early days of the presidential election, who has appeared incapable of presenting himself and his policies to Nigerians through the media and who continues to evade public accountability, should even have his advisors try to denigrate Obi, who has easily emerged from all accounts as the most visible, focused and articulate political figure in this era.”

The statement also clearly stated the following: Obi remains a man who has become not only the conscience of the people but also their hope for a new and egalitarian Democracy.
