Couple enters house while owners completing yard work

The Orangeville Police Service is investigating a Break and Enter incident that took place at a Church Street residence Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday, July 29, 2018 at approximately 1:45 pm, the complainant and her husband were in the back yard of their Church Street home completing yard work. The complainant attended inside the house to find a male and female standing in the kitchen. The male was in possession of the complainant’s purse and the female was in possession of the complainant’s cell phone. The male and female intruders stated that they were at the residence looking for a friend who they thought would be there. The complainant was given back the property and the suspects left the area. Police were called a short time later when the complainant discovered that a small amount of cash was missing from the purse.

The male suspect is described as being white, 5’10, thin build, wearing a light colour t-shirt.
The female suspect is described as white, 5’8, medium build, pregnant, wearing dark clothing.

Police are continuing their investigation and would like to speak with anyone who has information regarding this incident.

Police remind residents to keep front doors locked when spending time in backyards to prevent this type of incident from occurring.
