Male youth arrested as a result of stabbing incident

The Orangeville Police Service has charged one person in connection with an altercation that took place late Saturday night outside of a convenience store at Dawson Road and Townline in Orangeville.

On Saturday, September 26, 2020 at approximately 11:00 p.m. police were called to an altercation involving two males outside of the Circle K Convenience Store located at 108 Dawson Road. One male received multiple stab wounds to his leg and back and was transported to hospital where he remains in stable condition. The other male received lacerations to his hand which were treated at hospital.

As a result of the incident one male was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. The identity of the accused male is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He was held in custody pending a Bail hearing and was later released by the court.

The accused male is scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on November 2, 2020 to answer to the allegations.
