Police investigate fail to remain collision

The Orangeville Police Service is investigating a fail to remain collision that occurred this morning at the Bank of Montreal drive-thru ATM at 274 Broadway.

On Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at approximately 7:00 a.m. a vehicle attended the ATM at the Bank of Montreal located at 274 Broadway in Orangeville. The ATM was not in operation and the exit was blocked by other vehicles. The driver reversed out of the ATM lane and in doing so struck a post that was supporting an overhead canopy sign.  The incident cause severe damage to both the post and the rear of the vehicle. A witness described the vehicle as a blue van (possibly a Dodge Caravan) driven by a female. The driver fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Police are continuing their investigation and would like to hear from anyone who might have information regarding the identity of the driver who fled the scene.
