Two youths charged after dispute at Skate Park

Your Orangeville Police Service has arrested and charged two youths after an altercation that took place at Rotary Park, Monday afternoon.

On Monday, July 8, 2019 at approximately 5:00 p.m., a group of youths became involved in a dispute over property that was allegedly taken from another youths back pack. As a result of the dispute, four youths left the area but returned approximately three hours later. Upon their return, one of the youths produced a paint ball gun and began shooting at people in the park from the vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene and police were called. Police attended the area and spoke with two victims. There were no injuries as a result of the incident. The four suspects were not located.

On Tuesday, July 9, 2019, police arrested and charged two youths regarding the incident. The two youths, whose identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, were both charged with two counts of Assault With a Weapon. The accused youths are scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on August 12, 2019, to answer to the allegations.
