Police support Pride Month with flag raising

The Orangeville Police Service is once again proud to fly the rainbow flag, during the month of June, in support and celebration of 2SLGBTQ+ Pride Month.

The Service will show their support with a flag raising ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 3rd at OPS Headquarters, 390 C Line, Orangeville. Members of the public are welcome to attend to show their support of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

“We support an inclusive, respectful and safe community where ALL citizens can live and enjoy our great town. We are again proud to fly the rainbow flag in support of 2SLGBTQ+ residents in Orangeville and Pride Month”, said Chief Wayne Kalinski.

2SLGBTQ+ Pride is the positive stance against discrimination and violence toward two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and everyone else (2SLGBTQ+) to promote their self-affirmation, dignity, equality rights, increase their visibility as a social group, build community, and celebrate sexual diversity and gender variance.
