Police investigate suspicious person and vehicle

Your Orangeville Police Service is investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle and male, after an incident yesterday evening (Wednesday, April 17) on Amelia Street near Walsh Crescent.

On Wednesday, April 17, between 6:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., a 14-year-old female was walking on the west side of Amelia Street from Walsh Crescent northbound towards Hansen Boulevard. The female noticed a car driving southbound and the driver honked the horn as it drove past the female. The car then turned around and drove northbound, slowing down as it approached the female. The driver’s window was partially down and the driver made eye contact with the female. The female turned around and began walking southbound at which time the car also turned around and came to a stop when it caught up to the female. The female ran from the area to a nearby residence. No words were exchanged between the female and the driver of the car.

The vehicle is described as a white 4-door car similar to a Dodge Charger, with tinted windows. The driver was a white male, mid to late 20’s, with dirty blonde hair described as being slicked back, possibly in a ponytail.

Police are continuing their investigation and would like to identify and speak with the driver to ensure the safety of the community.
