Police aim to raise another $10,000 with 2019 Cops For Cancer event
Your Orangeville Police Service is once again looking to the community to support their 2019 Cops For Cancer fundraising initiative.
Members of the Orangeville Police Service, along with colleagues from other area emergency services, are joining together to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. The 2019 Cops For Cancer event will feature participants shaving their heads in an event at Orangeville Town Hall on Saturday, May 11, 2019. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the courtyard of Town Hall, located at 87 Broadway in Orangeville. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will move to the Atrium inside of Town Hall.
“We have all been touched by cancer in one way or another and we were extremely pleased with last year’s event raising just over $10,000.” said Chief Wayne Kalinski. “We look forward to the ongoing support of our generous community”.
After the success of the 2018 campaign, the Orangeville Police Service has set a goal to raise another $10,000 during this year’s initiative. The public can support this event in a variety of ways. Cash donations can be made either online at Cops For Cancer Orangeville 2019 or by contacting Constable Scott Davis at 519-941-2522 ext. 2221 or [email protected] or by attending the Orangeville Police Service in person at 390 C Line, Orangeville.
“We’re appreciative of any size of donation. Big or small we’ll accept them all”, said Constable Scott Davis. “There are close to 30,000 people in our community. If we received even a dollar or two, from half of our residents, it would be a fabulous accomplishment”.
The Orangeville Police Service is challenging their community service partners and local businesses to register teams to achieve “Top Fundraiser” status. To register a team, please visit Cops For Cancer Orangeville 2019
