Collision in restaurant drive-thru leads to impaired charge
Your Orangeville Police Service has arrested and charged a 28-year-old Wasaga Beach man with Impaired Driving after a collision in the drive-thru lane of a First Street restaurant early Sunday afternoon (March 3).
On Sunday, March 3, 2019, at approximately 12:05 p.m., Orangeville police officers were called to the Harvey’s / Swiss Chalet Restaurant, 93 First Street regarding a collision that had occurred in the drive-thru lane. A male driving a 2014 Mercedes struck the rear end of another vehicle waiting in line. Police attended the scene to investigate the incident.
As a result of the investigation police arrested Corey Jonathan Foster, 28, of Wasaga Beach. The man was charged with Operation While Impaired by Alcohol or Drugs and Operation While Impaired with More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol.
The accused man’s vehicle was impounded for seven days and his driver’s licence was suspended for ninety days.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on March 19, 2019 to answer to the allegations.
There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
