Female facing fraud charges

Your Orangeville Police Service has arrested and charged a 35-year-old Orangeville woman with fraud as a result of making false declarations to Ontario Works.

On Thursday, January 3, 2019, police received a call from the County of Dufferin Social Services Department reporting a fraud. The allegations date back to November 2014 and indicate that the female received in excess of $75,000 by making fraudulent claims to Ontario Works.

As a result of the investigation the female attended the Orangeville Police Service on January 24, 2019 where she was arrested and charged with Fraud Over $5000.

Chantelle Ann May Roberts, 35, of Orangeville, was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on March 12, 2019, to answer to the allegations.
