Police investigate theft of vehicle that was left running

Your Orangeville Police Service is investigating the theft of a vehicle at the corner of Broadway and First Street last evening.

On Monday, November 26, 2018 at approximately 8:20 p.m., a silver 2005 Chrysler 300 was parked outside of a pizza restaurant at the corner of Broadway and First Street. The owner of the vehicle left the car running and unattended while picking up a food order. The owner observed a person enter the vehicle and drive off eastbound on Broadway. Police attended the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. The car had winter tires on black rims and license plate CFEK 004.

Police are asking anyone who may have information regarding the incident to contact the Orangeville Police Service or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.crimestopperssdm.com.

Drivers are also reminded of the risk of theft if you leave your vehicle unattended and running while parked in a driveway or parking lot. To avoid being the victim of theft, always remove keys and valuables and ensure that your vehicle is locked when not in use.
