Police investigate Break and Enters to local businesses
The Orangeville Police Service is currently investigating Break and Enter incidents that took place at three local businesses over the past few weeks.
On Saturday, June 16th, at approximately 1:40 am, police received a report of an intrusion alarm at a business located on First Street near Bredin Parkway. Officers attended and found a window to be damaged. The suspect or suspects made off with cash and electronic equipment.
On June 19th, police were notified of a Break and Enter that had occurred at a business, located on Broadway near Third Street. The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between 3:00 am and 3:00 pm on June 16th.
The suspect or suspects entered the restaurant by damaging a door at the rear of the building. Several bottles of beverages were taken in this incident.
On Saturday, June 23rd, police received a report of a second Break and Enter at the same business on First Street near Bredin Parkway. Entry was made by damaging a glass door sometime between 9:00 pm on Friday June 22nd and 8:00 am on Saturday June 23rd. A cheque book was the only item believed to have been taken.
On Sunday, June 24th, police received a report of a Break and Enter to a storage trailer at the rear of a business, located on First Street near Fifth Avenue. Shortly after midnight, the suspect or suspects entered through a window and a quantity of beverages was taken.
Police are continuing to investigate these crimes and feel that the same suspect or suspects may be responsible for all four incidents. Several similar incidents are currently being investigated in the Bolton area which may also be connected to the Orangeville crimes.
