Police investigate break and enter incidents at two local businesses

Your Orangeville Police Service is investigating break and enter incidents that occurred at two local businesses earlier this week.

On Monday, June 12, 2017, at approximately 1:20 a.m., police were called to The Official Barber Shop at 5 First Street regarding a break and enter to the business. A witness reported hearing glass break and a male and female fleeing the area in a gold colour four door vehicle. Upon investigation, police believe culprits entered through a broken window and made off with electronic equipment through the front door of the business.

A witness was able to capture the suspects and their vehicle on video just prior to breaking the window. Police are processing the video and will post it on the Orangeville Police Service website and social media accounts as soon as possible.

A second break and enter occurred sometime between 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 12 and 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13 at Déjà Vu Diner, 318 Broadway. The incident was reported to police when the owner arrived to open the business for the day and discovered that the restaurant had been broken into. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken during the incident.
Police are continuing to investigate the break and enters and believe that the two incidents may be connected.
