Traffic stops lead to alcohol related driving charges
The Orangeville Police Service has arrested and charged a 26-year-old female and a 28-year-old male with alcohol related driving charges as a result of two (unrelated) traffic stops, early Saturday morning and Sunday morning.
On Saturday, March 3, 2018, at approximately 12:30 am, police stopped a white Honda Accord on Townline near Riddell Road. While investigating a Highway Traffic Act infraction the officer suspected that the driver had been consuming alcohol.
As a result of the investigation the female driver was placed under arrest.
Natasha Patricia Frances Rusk, 26, or Orangeville, was charged with Driving With More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in 100 Millilitres of Blood and Breach of Probation.
The accused was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing and was later released by the court.
On Sunday, March 4, 2018, at approximately 2:00 am, police stopped a black Ram pick-up truck as the truck turned into a restaurant parking lot on Broadway near Sherbourne Street.
As a result of the investigation the driver, a 28-year-old male, was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Driving With More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in 100 Millilitres of Blood.
Stephen Christopher Marquina Llanos, 28, of Bolton, was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on March 20, 2018, to answer to the allegations.
Both drivers received a mandatory 90 day licence suspension and both vehicles were seized and impounded for the mandatory 7 days.
