Traffic stop leads to Impaired and Dangerous Driving charges
Your Orangeville Police Service has arrested and charged a 32-year-old Orangeville man with Impaired Driving and Dangerous Driving resulting from a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday, June 13 at approximately 3:00 a.m., police stopped a grey Dodge Durango on Broadway near John Street. The driver was initially being investigated for speeding and for having a burnt out headlight.
As a result of the investigation, the lone male driver was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operating a Motor Vehicle with More Than 80 Millilitres of Alcohol in 100 Milligrams of Blood.
During the processing of the accused male, police received information that the vehicle had also been involved in a fail to remain collision in the Caledon area a short time earlier.
In addition to the alcohol related charges, Abadir Khalif JIMALE, 32, of Orangeville, was also charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Failing to Stop at the Scene of an Accident.
The accused male was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing and was later released by the court. He is scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on July 4, 2017 to answer to the allegations.
