Suspicious vehicle investigation leads to drug charges

Your Orangeville Police Service has arrested and charged two Brampton males with various drug related charges following the investigation of a suspicious vehicle behind a Broadway motel.

On Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at approximately 3:30 a.m., an officer was patrolling a retail plaza on Broadway and observed a suspicious vehicle behind a motel at 316 Broadway.
As a result of the investigation, two males were arrested and charged with drug related offences.

Police seized approximately $10,000 worth of illicit drugs and cash. The illicit drugs included varying amounts of Cocaine, Ecstacy, MDMA, Psilcybin and Marihuana. Various drug paraphernalia items were also seized.

Antwon Kofi Asamoah, 21 and Elijah Griffiths, 21, both of Brampton, were each charged with several criminal offences including Possession of Marihuana, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime.

Both males were held in custody pending bail hearings regarding the allegations.
