Police arrest male for residential Break and Enter

The Orangeville Police Service has arrested and charged an 19-year-old male with Break and Enter after an incident at a Goldgate Crescent residence late Saturday night.

On Saturday, January 13, 2017, at approximately 11:50 pm, police received a call to attend an address on Goldgate Crescent, as the homeowner reported that a male had broken a window in the front door and entered into the residence. There were several people home in the residence at the time. Police arrived on scene and were advised that the suspect had fled the scene. The witnesses were able to provide officers with the identity of the suspect as he was known to them.

Approximately 20 minutes later, police received a call regarding a suspicious male observed going in between houses on Victor Large Way. Officers located the male and found him to be the suspect involved in the Goldgate Crescent break and enter. The male was arrested and taken into custody. One resident received minor injuries from the broken glass. The damage to the door is estimated to be $500. Caledon Dufferin Victim Services attended the scene to support the home home owner.

David Albert Evans, 19, of Alton Ontario, was charged with Break and Enter, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Breach of Recognizance. The accused man was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
