Male arrested for November theft of cash register

The Orangeville Police Service has arrested and charged a 33-year-old man in connection to the theft of a cash register from a local convenience store on November 13, 2016.

On Sunday, November 13, at approximately 6:45 p.m., two suspects attended a convenience store located at 200 Elizabeth Street. One suspect stayed outside of the store while the other suspect entered the store and removed the cash register from the service counter. The two suspects then fled from the area on foot.

The cash register was located on a driveway of a residence a short distance away. Footage of the incident was captured on the store security cameras.

As a result of their investigation, police were able to identify the suspect responsible for the theft of the cash register.

On Tuesday, March 7, 2017, police arrested and charged Travis Leonard Douglas Aikins with Theft Under $5000. The accused male was held in custody pending a bail hearing and later released by the court. He is scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on March 28, 2017, to answer to the allegations.
