Kenilworth man facing stunt driving and drug charges

Your Orangeville Police Service has arrested and charged a 42-year-old Kenilworth man after he was clocked travelling 64 km/h over the posted speed limit on Broadway Thursday morning.

On Thursday, October 5, 2017, an Orangeville police officer was conducting traffic enforcement on Broadway near Diane Drive. This area is a posted 50km/h zone and police receive many complaints regarding the excessive speeds of vehicles travelling on the road.

At approximately 11:50am, police observed a 2003 Ford F-150 traveling west. The officer’s radar unit clocked the vehicle travelling at a speed of 114km/h. The vehicle was directed to stop and the male driver was investigated.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, Zdravko Barkovich, 42, of Kenilworth, Ontario was arrested and charged with Stunt Driving- Excessive Speed by more than 50km/h over the posted speed limit, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Breach of Probation.

Police seized a small quantity of what is believed to be marijuana and the man’s vehicle. As well, the accused man received a 7 day licence suspension.

The man is scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on November 6th to answer to the allegations.
