Driver of stolen van flees after collision

Your Orangeville Police Service is investigating an incident involving a stolen van colliding with a parked vehicle at a residence on Oak Ridge Drive Sunday morning.

On Sunday, June 11 at approximately 11:55 a.m., police received a report of a fail to remain collision at a residence on Oak Ridge Drive. Witnesses stated that a white Dodge Caravan rounded a corner at a high rate of speed and lost control. The van swerved and collided with another vehicle that was parked in a driveway. After the collision the van fled the scene. Witnesses were able to advise police that the lone driver of the van was a white male with a beard.

Police patrolled the area for the vehicle and located it a few hours later in a retail parking lot near Fourth Avenue and Highway #10. The driver was not located. Further investigation revealed that the van had been stolen from the Hamilton area.

Police are continuing their investigation and would like to speak with anyone who is able to provide information regarding this incident.
