Disturbance at hotel leads to drug charges

Your Orangeville Police Service has arrested and charged a 21-year-old man with several drug related charges following a disturbance at a hotel on Buena Vista Drive early Saturday morning (March 4th).

On Saturday, March 4, 2017, at approximately 3:30 a.m., police were called to a fight in progress in the parking lot of the Best Western Hotel at 7 Buena Vista Drive in Orangeville. Several males dispersed from the area as police arrived on scene.
Officers located a small picnic cooler left behind when the males left the area. Inside the cooler police found a large amount of cash and illicit drugs.

Upon further investigation, police were able to determine the owner of the cooler. Police seized the cooler and its contents which included 78 grams of marijuana, 21 grams of cocaine, 2 grams of crack cocaine and $3100 cash.

On Wednesday, March 8, 2017, a 21-year-old Dundalk man turned himself in to police.

Brayden Gregory Lavieille was arrested and charged with Possession For The Purpose of Trafficking Marijuana, Possession For The Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Causing a Disturbance.

The male was held in custody pending a bail hearing and was later released by the Court.

He is scheduled to appear again in court in Orangeville on April 3, 2017 to answer to the allegations.
