Damage to motel room leads to drug charges

The Orangeville Police Service has arrested and charged a 44-year-old female with drug related charges after damaging a motel room early Friday morning (March 2).

On Friday March 2, 2018, at approximately 9:30am, police received a call from the owner of a west Broadway motel reporting a mischief to a room that had occurred overnight. Police attended the scene and after witnessing the damage a female was arrested.

A short time later police were called back to the motel by the owner regarding items left in the room by the accused female. Police obtained a search warrant and a quantity of a substance believed to be cocaine, as well as various drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the investigation, Veronica Theresa Stahurski, 44, of Orangeville, was charged with several criminal offences including Mischief Under $5000, Possession of Cocaine, and two counts of Breach of Probation.

The accused female was held in custody pending a bail hearing in court.
